Miley Cyrus marks 33rd birthday with renewed bond with father Billy Ray

Miley Cyrus rang in her 33rd birthday with an intimate celebration surrounded by close friends and family, sharing glimpses of the occasion with her millions of followers on Instagram.

The singer posted two black-and-white photos from the gathering, thanking fans and loved ones for their warm wishes. “33 is already burning bright thanks to the warmth of your sweet birthday wishes,” she wrote.

“All I want this year is more laughs with the people who give me the little smile lines that are starting to show up.” She ended her note with a white heart emoji and added, “I love you all.”

Among those present was Katy Coyne, wife of Miley’s longtime friend and collaborator Wayne Coyne.

Katy shared two photos of the pop star on Instagram, including a candid shot of Miley blowing out a single candle. She humorously noted that both she and Miley arrived in matching long-sleeved black dresses, writing: “Showed up in the same outfit. Happy birthday to my girl.” In another post, she added, “I know that wish will come true. Already is.”

Miley’s sister Brandi Cyrus also marked the day by posting a video from the dinner, where diners serenaded the superstar with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” “So glad we could be here to celebrate you,” Brandi wrote, adding a heartfelt “ILYS M.”

The celebration came during a year of healing for Miley, who recently reconciled with her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, after a widely reported family rift following her parents’ 2022 divorce. Billy Ray shared throwback photos with his daughter, captioning them: “Happy birthday Smiley Miley ❤️.”

Earlier in October, Miley revealed on CBS Sunday Morning that she had written a song titled Secrets for her father as a “peace offering” on his birthday in August. She said the emotional track, featured on her latest album, helped repair their strained relationship. “My dad cried,” she shared. “We communicate better through song… it said something in a couple of minutes that would have taken a lot of sessions.”

Billy Ray later echoed her sentiments on Instagram, posting a nostalgic video of the two performing together during her childhood. “One great song can do more for the soul than a million therapy sessions,” he wrote, expressing gratitude for their renewed bond.
