Punjab launches wheat production competition with big prizes for farmers
The Punjab government has announced the Wheat Production Competition 2025–26, offering major rewards including tractors and cash prizes for farmers achieving the highest yields.
According to the announcement, winners at the provincial level will receive large-scale prizes, with the top award being an 85-horsepower tractor, followed by a 75-horsepower tractor for second place and a 60-horsepower tractor for third.
At the district level, the first prize has been set at Rs. 1 million, the second at Rs. 800,000 and the third at Rs. 500,000, encouraging strong participation across all farming regions.
To be eligible, farmers must cultivate wheat on at least five acres of land. Application forms will be available at the offices of Tehsil Assistant Directors and Agriculture Officers.
The government has clarified that members of the Assembly, government officials and employees of the Agriculture Department will not be allowed to participate in the competition to ensure transparency and fairness.
