Salman Ali Agha breaks Dravid, Dhoni and Yousuf’s record for most matches in calendar year

Pakistan T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has shattered a long-standing world record previously held by former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.

Salman has played 54 international matches in 2025 as of last Sunday, surpassing Dravid’s 26-year-old milestone.

The Pakistan cricket team has featured in 54 international fixtures so far this year, and remarkably, Salman Ali Agha has been part of every single match, making him the cricketer who has played the most international matches in a calendar year.

He achieved this historic feat during the tri-nation T20I series match against Zimbabwe, where Pakistan secured a dominant victory.

Salman surpassed Rahul Dravid’s 1999 record of 53 international matches.

Pakistan’s former captain Mohammad Yousuf had also represented the country in 53 matches in the year 2000.

It is worth noting that Pakistan qualified for the final of the tri-nation T20I series after defeating Zimbabwe by 69 runs on Saturday.
