CTO Lahore orders FIRs registration against one-wheelers
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore has decided to tighten the noose around one-wheelers by registering FIRs against them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
In this regard, CTO Lahore Dr Athar Waheed said one-wheeling will not be given a chance to flourish by using social media in a heinous game.
The Cyber Patrol Wing of Traffic Police Lahore is keeping a close watch on one-wheelers 24 hours a day, Dr. Athar Waheed said.
A few days ago, an FIR was registered against a video of a boy and a girl and their group riding one-wheelers that went viral on social media, CTO Lahore said.
He said as per the order of IG Punjab, the task of adopting a zero-tolerance policy against one-wheelers has been given to all forces.
A game of death like one-wheeling has extinguished the lights of many homes and caused a lifelong illness to parents, Dr. Athar Waheed said.
He said parents and teachers can play a key role in raising the awareness of children against one-wheeling.
He further said that the Education Wing of Traffic Police Lahore has launched an awareness campaign about the dangers of one-wheeling by visiting educational institutions.
Dr. Athar Waheed said social media users should not use any one-wheeler video to promote their accounts, otherwise action may be taken against them.
In line with the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision of a safe Punjab, the Lahore Traffic Police is performing its duty on the roads 24 hours a day, Dr. Athar Waheed said.
