Opposition criticises Punjab govt over food inflation
Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Moin Riaz Qureshi has criticised the government by waving tomatoes in Punjab Assembly and stated that a tomato has become worth Rs 75, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the provincial assembly session, Moin Riaz said that wheat, which used to cost Rs 2,000 per maund, has now become Rs 3800, whereas the price of bread has increased by Rs 5, onions cost Rs 200 and capsicums cost Rs 400. He said that the poor citizen is not getting out of the electricity and gas bills and children's fees.
Opposition Leader criticised the health sector as well and said that health facilities in Punjab are in decline, as fifteen to twenty newborns died in DHQ Pakpattan two months ago. Lahore's air pollution has become extremely high, yesterday's pollution index was 175 and today it was 225, the health sector is the primary responsibility of the government.
Moin Riaz claimed six hundred and fifty extrajudicial killings have taken place in one year, whether it is the incident of May 9, November 24, Azad Kashmir or the incident of Muridke, and appealed that a judicial commission and investigation should be conducted on it.
Moin Riaz said that KP Chief Minister was not allowed to meet the founder of PTI in Adiala Jail despite the court's order twice and the KP CM is being forcibly prevented from meeting the founder. If a spark is ignited somewhere and the people of KP realize that their rights are being snatched away, there will be a lot of loss. Moreover, he said that Aleema Khan is being taken from one court to another, and even her identity card has been blocked, our party and workers are being put against the wall, which is not good.
