Pakistan, Qatar agree to boost bilateral trade and investment cooperation
PM Shehbaz Sharif holds detailed talks with visiting Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry Faisal Al Thani
Pakistan and Qatar have agreed to maintain close coordination to translate mutual understanding into tangible outcomes, including facilitating business-to-business linkages and investment projects, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said this during a meeting in Islamabad on Friday with Qatar’s Minister for Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani and his delegation.
The Qatari minister was visiting Pakistan to co-chair the sixth session of the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Qatar relations, which are rooted in shared faith, values, and mutual respect.
The Prime Minister appreciated Qatar’s role as an important partner and influential regional mediator. Emphasizing opportunities in energy, agriculture, food security, information technology, tourism, and infrastructure development, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s investor-friendly policies and invited Qatari investors to explore new avenues of cooperation under the framework of the government’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani conveyed the good wishes of the Qatari leadership and reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to further deepening economic ties with Pakistan.
He stated that the sixth session of the JMC provided an important platform to review existing cooperation and identify new initiatives to advance mutually beneficial partnerships.
The Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s appreciation for Qatar’s consistent support on regional and global issues and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to strengthen cooperation at regional and multilateral forums.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination to translate mutual understanding into tangible outcomes, including facilitating business-to-business linkages and investment projects.
