CM Maryam waives semester fees of flood-hit students
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a special package for students from flood-affected areas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Under special package, fees for one semester have been waived for all students from flood-affected areas.
Admission fees for BS first-year students from flood-affected districts have been waived.
First-year fees have been waived for students from flood-affected Muzaffargarh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Chiniot and Kasur.
The last date for registration in all universities located in these flood-affected districts has also been extended by 20 days.
The last date for applying for Honhar Scholarship has also been extended by one month.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given the package to reduce the financial difficulties of parents of students from flood-affected areas and to facilitate the youth.
I will not let the education of my sons and daughters be affected during the flood disaster, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said.
She said all efforts are being made to ensure full support to the flood victims, early rehabilitation and compensation for losses.
