Pakistan, Syria agree to enhance agricultural ties

Pakistan and Syria have agreed to enhance agricultural cooperation. This commitment was expressed at a meeting between Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain and Syrian Ambassador Dr. Ramez Alraee, in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Both sides agreed to form a Joint Working Group to explore practical avenues of collaboration, including modern farming practices, water resource management, capacity building, and agricultural trade facilitation. The Minister emphasized that agriculture holds particular promise for both countries, and Pakistan is eager to expand trade and technical cooperation with Syria. 

In his remarks, Ambassador Dr. Ramez Alraee appreciated Pakistan's continued support and assured Syria's commitment to work closely with Pakistan in areas of mutual benefit.
