Patient’s woes multiply after filming doctor video-gaming
Police in Narowal on Wednesday registered an FIR against a citizen on the complaint of a doctor who accused the former of shouting abuses at him while he was on duty at a government hospital, intimidating him and interfering in official duty, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On the other hand, according to a video that went viral on social media, the doctor was playing a game on his cellphone when the citizen, a patient, had an exchange of hot words with him over not attending to the patients and playing a game instead.
Later, the citizen filmed the scene and uploaded it on social media, which spread like wild fire.
Despite the video doing rounds on social media, the Punjab Health Department did not take notice of it. Rather, a case was registered against the citizen.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government has banned the use of cellphones by doctors while they are on duty at the government hospitals.
On the other hand, the health department has refused to give its version of the incident.
