The footage of shooting senior journalist Absar Alam has shown the suspected attacker wearing a yellow shalwar kameez took three rounds of the park before firing shots at the former Pemra chairman.

The suspect can be seen leaving the crime scene after shooting the former Pemra chairman during an evening walk near his house on Tuesday.

‘Can’t be deterred’

Absar Alam said in a video message soon after the shooting that he had been hit in the ribs by a bullet. 

He reiterated his resolve to do his journalistic duties with dedication, saying such acts cannot deter him and this is a message to the people who got him. However, he did not make any specific accusations about who might be behind the attack. 

Journalists have been facing attacks and threats in the country. noted journalist Hamid Mir too came under such a strike in 2014 in Karachi.
