CDWP approves 7 uplift projects worth over Rs100 billion

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved seven developmental projects worth over one hundred billion rupees. The meeting was held in Islamabad on Friday with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair.

Out of these, three projects with a cumulative cost of 10.053 billion rupees were approved at the CDWP level, while four major projects, amounting to around 91 billion rupees, were recommended to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for final consideration and approval. 

The approved projects include "Development of the National University of Medical Sciences, Rawalpindi" costing over three billion rupees, the "Establishment of Sukkur IBA University Campus at Mirpurkhas" worth over 1.6 billion rupees, and the "Gwadar Safe City Project" worth over 4.9 billion rupees. 

The CDWP referred the "Sewerage System from Larechs Colony to Gulshan-e-Ravi, Lahore "worth over 49 billion rupees, and "Punjab Tourism for Economic Growth Project" costing over 12 billion rupees to the ECNEC for further consideration and approval. 

"Construction of Dualization of Sialkot Eminabad Road up to Kamoki" worth over 12.9 billion rupees and "Rehabilitation and Upgradation of Jhaljao - Bela Road" costing over 16.2 billion rupees were also referred to ECNEC for further consideration.
