Private Hajj operators call on PM Shehbaz, seeks Govt help to restore quota

Amid failure to comply with Saudi Arabia’s requirements, the private Hajj quota operators have jeopardized the departure of 77,000 potential Pakistani pilgrims this year, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and representatives of private Hajj operators called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. 

During the meeting, the delegation sought PM's help in sending pilgrims for Hajj. Federal Minister Sardar Yousaf, Chairman Maulana Ata-ur-Rehman, Committee Member Bushra Butt and representatives of Hope requested the Prime Minister to seek permission from Saudi authorities for private quota pilgrims. 

The Prime Minister assured all possible cooperation and efforts on the issue of private scheme pilgrims. 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the issue of private scheme pilgrims is a source of embarrassment for the country. He assured the delegation that Saudi authorities will be contacted for private scheme Hajj pilgrims. 

Prime Minister Shehbaz said the government will do whatever is possible to resolve the issue.
