Islamabad revises business hours, markets to close by 8pm

The district administration in Islamabad has issued a notification announcing new business hours across the city, imposing early closing times for markets and commercial activities.

Under the new directives, all shops, markets and shopping malls will close at 8pm. However, essential services including pharmacies, hospitals, petrol pumps, CNG stations and dairy shops have been exempted from the restrictions.

Restaurants, tandoors, grocery stores and other food outlets will be allowed to operate until 10pm. Authorities clarified that there will be no restrictions on takeaway and home delivery services.

The notification also directs that wedding halls, marquees and other event venues must close by 10pm. Similarly, sports facilities, clubs and gyms have been instructed to limit their operations until the same time.

The district administration has urged citizens and the business community to ensure full compliance with the new timings, stressing the importance of cooperation for effective implementation.
