The Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended the transfer notification of the PIA air hostess and summoned Chief Resources Officer Human (HR) in person for the next hearing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The provincial apex court also issued a notice to the PIA General Manager PIA (HR) and other parties and sought their response as to how the petitioner who was a pregnant woman, was transferred while being on leave.
LHC Justice Shahid Waheed heard the petition of senior air hostess Ansa Akbar who stated that she was on leave when she conceived and despite being on leave she was transferred.
Justice Shahid inquired the lawyer if he approached the relevant forum because the petitioner's lawyer has not mentioned it in this petition. The lawyer asked for an apology reasoning that his associate forgot to write in the writ petition.
Ansa Akbar was serving in the cabin crew as a senior air hostess from Jan 7, 2013, to April 24, 2022, maintaining a ‘well-reputed record’.
She had never been absent from the duty. She took leave from 24th April 2022 to 14th April 2023 as per medical departmental rules after being pregnant.
A show-cause notice was sent to her while being on medical which was responded to afterward.
The petitioner was transferred from air hostess to Security and Vigilance Division on June 8, 2022.
Now, Court declared the petitioner's notification of transfer null and void.
