Imran Khan’s sentence in Toshakhana case commuted by six months

Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who had been sentenced to three years behind bars in the Toshakhana reference on August 5, 2023, has his prison term commuted by six months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

During the hearing of Imran’s appeal against his conviction in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), his lawyer Latif Khosa told Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Aamer Farooq that President Dr. Arif Alvi had commuted prisoners’ sentence on August 14 by six months. “Therefore, PTI chief’s sentence has also been reduced by six months,” he reminded.

Advocate Khosa, on the occasion, prayed to the court to suspend the sentence handed down to his client in the reference.
