Lovebirds riddled with bullets for ‘honour’ in Karachi

A couple was killed in the name of honour on Abul Hassan Isphahani Road in Karachi in broad daylight on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police, the dual murder was committed by the father of the girl for ‘honour’.

Police said they got information of firing on a vehicle in which a girl and a young man were riding and the couple got seriously injured in the firing. When police reached the venue, the couple succumbed to their injuries.

According to initial reports, the slain young man identified as Ahsan, r/o Gulshan Iqbal, went to meet Laraib. The couple got into a double cabin car, Revo. When the father of the girl saw his daughter with a man, he opened fire on the car. As a result, both the girl and her presumed lover died.

Sohrab Goth SSP Ch Sohail Faiz said that the police arrested the father and brother of the girl in the case. They also recovered the murder weapon from the possession of the father. They said that the accused confessed to his crime.

The investigators are also collecting more evidence from the crime scene.

The dead bodies were shifted to the hospital for autopsy.
