A police operation in Taunsa targeting a group linked to Fitnat al-Khawarij resulted in a fierce shootout, leaving two terrorists dead and three police officers, including the SHO, injured.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the raid was carried out on the 24th of August in the jurisdiction of Thana City Taunsa, near City Food Club, after intelligence reports indicated the presence of the extremist group planning a major terrorist attack.

Upon arrival, the police team faced immediate gunfire from the terrorists. In the ensuing exchange, the police managed to neutralise two of the extremists, eliminating the immediate threat. 

However, during the intense firefight, the SHO, Sub-Inspector Sadiq, and Constable Muzammil Nazir sustained injuries and were quickly transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Taunsa for medical treatment.
