Iran offers assistance for Pakistan’s flood affectees
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi receives phone call from his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni
Iran has offered assistance for the flood-affected people of Pakistan, as the country is reeling from the prolonged monsoon spell in which nearly 800 people have so far been killed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The offer was made by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni during a telephonic conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Monday.
The Iranian Interior Minister said Pakistan is our brotherly neighbouring country and that they are ready to provide every kind of assistance in this time of trial.
He also expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives due to the torrential rains and floods in Pakistan particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan. He said Tehran is deeply saddened to see the destruction caused by floods in Pakistan.
Eskandar Momeni said Iran stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi thanked his Iranian counterpart for the offer of assistance and expression of solidarity for the flood victims.
The interior minister expressed government's commitment to the relief and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people.
