Hamza Shehbaz meets Chinese consul general, vows to strengthen bilateral ties
Former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Hamza Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday met Chinese Consul General Sun Yan in Lahore, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to sources, the two discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to further strengthen the longstanding Pakistan-China partnership.
They also exchanged views on expanding bilateral economic and development cooperation and further reinforcing the historic ties between the two countries.
Speaking during the meeting, Hamza Shehbaz said China was Pakistan’s most trusted and longstanding friend, which had stood firmly by the country in every difficult time.
He said Pakistan-China cooperation in defence and the economy was a remarkable example of a strong and enduring partnership.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in defence, trade and culture, while also promoting closer people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and China.
