The Sindh government on Thursday presented an inquiry report on Captain (Retired) Muhammad Sarwar’s arrest recent arrest in Karachi to the provincial cabinet, but decided not to make it public.
In the inquiry report, the Sindh government has held the federal government responsible for the arrest of Safdar, son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, by Karachi police a couple of months ago. The report says that federal ministers interfered in the affairs of the Sindh government and lawmakers of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) pressurised the police to have a case registered against Safdar. The report says that Safdar’s privacy was violated in complete disregard for the law. The report says the army chief took action against what happened to Inspector General of the Sindh Police.
