A violation of the Pakistan Building Code in the beautification of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar’s native city, DG Khan has been surfaced on Saturday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, officials of the government institute Director Monitoring & Evaluation Planning and Development Board Punjab have prepared a special report on the beautification of the entrances of Taunsa Sharif and DG Khan.
The report said the construction work on the entrances of the said cities was not in accordance with Pakistan Building Code. The government released funds of Rs120 million for the cities in 2019.
Though the construction of entrances and a park on the funds were spent but no real results were achieved as planned, the report said.
The report revealed that the lab test of construction material was compulsory under the Pakistan Building Code but in the beatification and construction in both cities, there is no report of any lab test of the material used on the project.
According to the report, construction work is slowing down, leading to an increase in the cost of the project. The report also said that the construction of a park in Taunsa Sharif was also against the approved plan.
