PTI, PML-Q hold third round of talks for seat adjustment in general elections

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) on Saturday held the third round of talks for seat adjustment ahead of the general elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The third round of negotiations between PTI and PML-Q leaders was held at Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s residence in Lahore.

The session was attended by Pervaiz Elahi, Moonis Elahi, Hussain Elahi, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Ali Afzal Sahi, Raja Basharat Fawad Chaudhry, and others.

The leaders reviewed the list of constituencies in the latest round of talks for finalizing seat adjustment for the next elections. The seat adjustment and list of constituencies were discussed in the meeting.

According to the sources, a total of 45 assembly issues were discussed between the two delegations.  Both leaders discussed 25 provincial and 10 national assembly seats. They discussed that candidates of both parties to contest on the symbol of the bat.

The consensus among the leaders evolved that the alliance will remain even going forward and this step is inevitable to avoid constitutional complications.  The meeting also discussed that Ch Shujaat is in touch with PDM and may raise constitutional issues.  An important decision will be taken soon to avoid such complications in the future, they agreed upon.
