Federal cabinet gives go-ahead for LNG import from Qatar

The federal cabinet has given go-ahead to seal a fresh deal of LNG import from Qatar and the signing ceremony is going to be held tomorrow (Friday), sources said on Thursday.
The cabinet that met with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair was briefed about the LNG import and the commodity price cut.
The premier said the people would be provided with relief at all costs. The meeting also took up Senate election strategy.
According to sources, PM Imran said the government won’t let anyone loot public money. He reiterated his resolve to continue the anti-corruption campaign.
According to Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz, PM Imran took the cabinet members in confidence about his visit to Sri Lanka. The meeting mulled measures about upcoming Senate elections, said Shibli tweeted.

PM Khan visited Sri Lanka on the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa and had meetings with the leadership and key figures of Sri Lanka. The two states expressed the resolve to cement bilateral ties.
Since 1948, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been maintaining cordial and supportive relations and working closely at the international and regional forums including the UN and Saarc.
