Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to the Mian Munshi Hospital and the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) late Friday night and ordered the replacement of deputy medical superintendent (DMS) of Mian Munshi Hospital on account of his absence from duty, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

Punjab Minister for Information Amir Mir and CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana accompanied the chief minister on the visit. 

CM Naqvi, on the occasion, inquired from the patients their views about the facilities being offered at these hospitals.

He also inspected the state of cleanliness there. 

He said he was saddened to see the condition of Mian Munshi Hospital. 

At the PIC, the chief minister met with the patients who had undergone primary angiography, and directed the hospital management to ensure angiography of patients after the heart attack. 

Children Hospital inquiry report submitted to CM:

On the other hand, Children Hospital administration on Saturday submitted to the chief minister the inquiry report on an incident of gross negligence in the treatment of children. 

Surprisingly, the administration laid all the blame on the lack of facilities at the hospital. 

Dr. Tayyaba Khawar, Muhammad Ashraf Zia and Dr. Riaz Ahmad conducted the inquiry.
