February 26, 2023 04:33 AM

The finance ministry on Saturday rejected a false news item doing rounds on media regarding its ‘direction’ to the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) to cease clearing of all the bills owing to the deteriorating economic conditions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Taking to its Twitter handle on Saturday, the finance ministry said: “There are rumours floating around that Government has instructed to stop payment of pay, pension, etc. This is completely false as no such instructions have been given by Finance Division, which is the concerned federal ministry.”
