Two policemen martyred, two injured in Khuzdar bomb explosion
At least two policemen were martyred and another two injured in a targeted bomb blast on a police car near the Jhalawan Complex area in Khuzdar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to police sources, the vehicle of SSP Khuzdar’s motorcade came under an IED attack near Jhalawan Complex in the country’s southwestern region of Balochistan when it was on its regular patrolling duty in the city.
As a result of which, SP driver Muhammad Din died on the spot, while another constable Abdul Salam succumbed on the way to the hospital.
The two wounded policemen were shifted to a nearby health facility for treatment.
According to the initial reports, it was a remote-controlled blast.
Police and Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area to hunt the suspects involved in the attack.
It is not ascertained that it was a suicide attack or a planted bomb that was ripped through a remote control after finding the police car.
Khuzdar deputy commissioner along with Khuzdar SSP reached the spot.
Balochistan and KP remained the worst affected region in Pakistan as it borders Afghanistan, a safe haven of TTP and other militants who are using Afghan soil to launch brazen attacks on Pakistani forces.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the incident and extended condolences to the families of those martyred and injured.
“Such cowardly acts cannot demoralise our security forces,” he said. “The people of Balochistan are standing side by side with the security forces”.
Bizenjo added that the menace of terrorism will be defeated.
He also prayed for the injured policemen and issued instructions that the best medical facilities be provided to them.
“Steps should be taken for foolproof security of the area,” he ordered.
Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove also condemned the blast and instructed the district administration to provide medical treatment to the injured.
