Rain, snow alert issued for Muzaffarabad, other cities of AJK; Upper and central areas of country to receive showers, snow until March 2
Different parts of Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) received rain during the last 24 hours after westerly winds entered the country on Monday, while rain and snow alert was issued by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) for Muzaffarabad and other areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) from February 25 to March 2, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
In Lahore, rain was reported from Johar Town, Thokar Niaz Beg, Multan Road and adjoining areas, Green Town, Kot Lakhpat, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Nishtar, Model Town, Ichhra, Canal, Gulberg, Garhi Shahu, Saddar, Dharampura, Anarkali, Lukshmi Chowk, Jain Mandir, Gawalmandi, Railway Station, Circular Road, Walled City, Ravi Road, Band Road, Shahdara, Islampura and other areas.
Besides Lahore, light to moderate rain was reported from Jahanian, Nankana, Tala Gang, Sahiwal, Pindi Bhattian, Isa Khel, Sarai Mughal, Sahiwal, Narowal, Mardan, Takht Bhai, Dera Ismael Khan and other cities, while it snowed over the hills in Tirah Valley of Khyber and Upper Dir, turning the weather cold again.

Snow in Tirah Valley turned the weather cold again as temperatures in the area had been on the rise for the last several days.
The locals heaved a sigh of relief, terming the rain and snow as a blessing from The Almighty Allah before the onset of the holy month of Ramadan.
Likewise, different areas of Upper Dir were lashed by rain and snow, which applied brakes to the approaching summer season.
Following snowfall, tourists started flocking to hill stations to enjoy the weather.
SDMA urges concerned departments to remain alert
Meanwhile, in view of heavy rain and snow forecasted for upper and central parts of the AJK, including Muzaffarabad, the SDMA urged all concerned departments to remain on their toes and take measures to preempt any disaster.
More rain, snow predicted
On the other hand, the Met Office forecast rain and snow for different parts of upper and central Pakistan until March 2.
It said that Islamabad and its outskirts would receive more rain.
Similarly, it said that rain and snow were expected in Dir, Kohistan, Shangla, Chitral, Buner, Abbottabad, Swat, Mansehra, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Waziristan, Dera Ismael Khan and Lakki Marwat.
The Met Office forecasted thundershowers with snow over the hills for different areas of upper and central Punjab, including Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jehlum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Khanewal, Multan, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Khushab and Mandi Bahauddin
Rain and snow were also predicted for Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Chaghi, Noshki, Kalat, Zhob and Musa Khel.
