Huge quantity of banned energy drinks seized, disposed of in Rawalpindi

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) officials seized a huge quantity of banned energy drinks in Rawalpindi and later disposed them of, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

About Rs450,000 worth of banned energy drinks were during a major operation in Ganj Mandi area of Bajaur Tower in Rawalpindi. 

According to PFA spokesperson, 500,000 ml of energy drinks were later destroyed in a drain.

The energy drinks were being taken to a warehouse laden on labour pushcarts.

The PFA officials slapped a fine of Rs50,000 on the warehouse owner for allowing storage of banned energy drinks. 

The seized energy drinks were banned across the province. 

A crackdown against banned energy drinks was underway across the province, the PFA spokesperson said.
