Pakistan Railways restores Shah Hussain Express between Lahore and Karachi

Pakistan Railways has reinstated the Shah Hussain Express on the Lahore-Karachi route to meet rising passenger demand, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Tuesday.

The train will depart daily from Lahore Station at 7 PM and complete its journey to Karachi Cantt in 18 hours and 45 minutes.

The Shah Hussain Express will make stops at key stations, including Faisalabad, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rohri, Hyderabad, Landhi, and Drug Road. The train composition includes 10 economy-class coaches, two AC business-class coaches, two AC standard coaches, a power plant, and a brake van.

To accommodate passengers, the railway administration has set an affordable fare structure, with economy-class tickets priced at Rs 4,000 and AC standard tickets available for Rs 7,500. The train will also feature facilities similar to the Green Line Express, including water dispensers and dedicated staff for cleanliness, ensuring a comfortable journey for travellers.

Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Railways, Amir Ali Baloch, highlighted that the department’s revenue stream is strengthening, with a record Rs 57 billion earned in the current financial year.

He attributed this success to the federal government's policies, which have significantly improved the operational performance of Pakistan Railways.
