Rain threatens to disrupt today’s Australia-South Africa Champions Trophy match
Team winning today's match will qualify for semi-finals; India, New Zealand from Group A already in the semi final
Australia will face South Africa in a Group B match of the ICC Champions Trophy to be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The team winning today’s match will book its place in the semifinal.
On the other hand, India and New Zealand have qualified for the semi-final from Group A after emphatically beating Pakistan and Bangladesh.
After losing their both matches, Pakistan and Bangladesh are now out of the competition, and will now face each other in Rawalpindi on February 27.
The weather in Rawalpindi is presently cloudy while the Met Office has forecast rainfall for the garrison city throughout the day today due to which there are chances of the match getting affected.
In case, the rain washes out today’s match, both teams will get one point each.
Australia’s predicted playing 11 is: Matthew Short, Travis Head, Steve Smith (captain), Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis (wicketkeeper), Alex Carey, Glenn Maxwell, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa and Spencer Johnson.
South Africa’s predicted playing 11 is: Ryan Rickelton (wicketkeeper), Tony de Zorzi, Temba Bavuma (captain), Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi.
