Punjab govt orders tight security at schools after Bhakkar blast

The Punjab government has directed all government and private schools across the province to adopt strict security measures in the wake of the Bhakkar suicide blast, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

All CEOs and DEOs have been advised to ensure strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in this regard.

Movement of visitors from the entry and exit points of the schools should be strictly monitored. The security guards and schools administered is also directed to remain alert.

The schools are directed to install CCTV cameras, a metal detector, and a panic button on a priority basis.

The schools are further advised to ensure the construction of 8 feet boundary wall around the school and maintain a register about movements on the main entry gate.

The students will provide training about phased evacuations and emergency drills. All these schools are advised to arrange security training and mock exercises in their respective schools in collaboration with the civil defence.
