Green Line bus stations in Karachi are in dilapidated conditions just after a month of the project’s inauguration, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Due to improper supervision, the eight stairs of the elevator at the Surjani town Abdullah Chowk Station have been uprooted from the structure. Some drug addict might have taken away iron screws with them. Elevator structure is not safe even in the presence of dozens of security guards.
Moreover, lights installed at the Green Line Bus stations are also in shambles. It has been revealed that some elevators were dysfunctional even before the inauguration of the project.
It is pertinent to mention here that the bus service is comprised of 80 hybrid buses that run on a 22 km route from Surjani to the Municipal Park near Juma Cloth market. Prime Minister Imran Khan on Dec 10 inaugurated the trial phase of the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service in Karachi.
