Election Commission finalises polling scheme for General Election 2024
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has prepared the final polling scheme for the upcoming general election, which will be held on February 8, 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel Wednesday.
According to sources, a total of 92353 polling stations will be established across the country to facilitate the voters.
The sources said that Punjab will have the highest number of polling stations, with 52412, followed by Sindh with 19096, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 15737, and Balochistan with 5067.
The polling stations have been categorized as normal, sensitive, and highly sensitive based on the security situation and the history of electoral violence.
In Punjab, 30755 polling stations have been declared as normal, 15617 as sensitive, and 6040 as highly sensitive.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4831 polling stations have been declared as normal, 6180 as sensitive, and 4726 as highly sensitive.
In Sindh, 4718 polling stations have been declared as normal, 6576 as sensitive, and 7802 as highly sensitive.
In Balochistan, 961 polling stations have been declared as normal, 2068 as sensitive, and 2038 as highly sensitive.
The Election Commission has said that it will ensure the provision of all necessary facilities and security arrangements at the polling stations to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election.
