Training of newly-inducted officers begins at Civil Services Academy

The opening ceremony of the 53rd Common Training Programme was held at the Civil Services Academy Lahore on Friday. 

At least 137 newly-inducted officers are taking part in the training proramme. Of these officers, 76 are women and 61 men. Fifteen of these officers are non-Muslims. A breakup of the participants shows that 50 of these officers are from Balochistan and Sindh, 16 from the tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, previously known as FATA, 10 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 11 from Punjab.

The opening ceremony started with flag hoisting in front of Mehran Block. Toppers on the merit list, Mir Maswar Ali and Zoha Tiwana, hoisted the flag.

The ceremony was presided over by Civil Services Academy Director General Farhan Aziz Khawaja. He encouraged the officers to focus on service, honesty and transparency.

In this training course, the participants will learn leadership development and character building. The will also learn about the evaluation system, CTP Director Shabbir Zaidi said.

He said that promotion of sports and co-curricular activities, leadership initiatives and professional ethics were top priorities for him. 

Civil Services Academy Director (Administration and Finance) Bilal Akram and Academic Group heads Nazia Jabeen, Syed Babar Zulfiqar, Fiza Shahid and Zofashan Manzoor were also present at the ceremony.
