Messi, Mbappe, Haaland among FIFA's best XI of the World Cup 2026
FIFA has officially announced its Team of the Tournament following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with newly crowned champions Spain contributing the highest number of players to the prestigious Best XI.
The team, selected in a 4-3-3 formation, features standout performers from seven different countries who impressed throughout the tournament held across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Spain, which lifted the World Cup trophy, has three representatives in the team.
Defenders Marc Cucurella and Pedro Porro, along with midfielder Rodri, were included after playing key roles in Spain's successful title-winning campaign.

Despite Argentina's defeat in the final, captain Lionel Messi earned a place in the attacking line, while defender Lisandro Martínez was also selected for his consistent performances during the tournament.
France also secured three spots in the Best XI, with Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise and defender Dayot Upamecano making the cut after impressive displays.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham was named in midfield, while Erling Haaland of Norway was selected as the team's central striker.
Completing the lineup is Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, whose outstanding performances between the posts earned him a place in FIFA's Team of the Tournament.
The Best XI recognizes the players who delivered the most influential and consistent performances during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, highlighting the tournament's top talent across every position.
