It’s time for Imran Khan to face people’s wrath, says Hamza

Telling Prime Minister Imran Khan that he had lost majority in the National Assembly (NA), Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz said on Friday said that ‘selected’ premier’s slogans would earn him nothing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media outside an accountability court (AC) in Lahore, he asked the prime minister to stop shedding ‘crocodile tears’ and get ready to face the people’s wrath. “You are the one who had snatched even milk from the babies,” the PML-N leader said. 

Addressing NA Speaker Asad Qaiser, Hamza, who is also the son of Leader of the Opposition in the NA and party President Shehbaz Sharif, said he should bear this thing in mind he was not going to remain the speaker for life. “You are not playing your constitutional role. You are acting upon somebody else’s orders,” he alleged. 

He said to make matters further worse, now the speaker’s name had also appeared in Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) foreign funding case. 

Hamza asked where were those five million homes and 10 million jobs that Imran Khan had promised to the nation before coming to power. “We are going to set out on a long march towards Islamabad tomorrow (March 26, 2022). Imran Niazi, I am telling you. You will no place to hide,” he warned. 

He counselled PM Imran to avoid stepping out of his home after having been kicked out of the Prime Minister’s office because, what he claimed, people would tear him asunder.  

PML-M leader hoped that masses would soon heave a sigh of relief after four years of PTI government. 

Earlier, Special Judge Central Court extended the interim bail granted to Hamza and his father Shehbaz Sharif in a money laundering case until April 4.

The court accepted the plea filed by Shehbaz for exemption from court hearing today on account of his engagements in Islamabad on account of the NA session. Reporter: Jamaluddin Jamali
