An anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Saturday granted interim bail to PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Hammad Azhar till April 4 in a terrorism case registered against them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Earlier in the day, the ATC rejected the bail petitions filed by Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar and Farrukh Habib in a terrorism case registered against the trio during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf rally.

The judge rejected the interim bail of the petitioners on their non-appearance in court. Besides this, Fawad and Hammad Azhar also failed to submit their surety bonds.

Later, following the rejection of their bail pleas, Fawad Ch and Hammad Azhar again submitted their petitions to the ATC in Lahore seeking interim bail in the terrorism case.

The duo appeared before the court.

After hearing the arguments of the PTI lawyer, the judge granted interim bail to Fawad and Azhar till April 4.

Anti-terrorism court Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar heard the petitions.

The judge also extended the interim bail of Ijaz Chaudhry and Mian Mehmoood-ur-Rashid till April 4.

Both Ijaz and Rashid appeared before the court.

The Race Course police registered cases against PTI leaders under 12 different sections including terrorism, murder, attempt to murder, fighting, and creating an obstruction in the performance of official duties.
