Australia imposes temporary travel ban on Iranian visa holders

The Australian government has announced a temporary travel ban on Iranian citizens holding visitor visas, citing concerns over the integrity of the immigration system. 

According to the Australian interior minister, the restriction has been imposed after reports that some Iranian visitors were unable to return within the stipulated time due to tensions arising from the Iran conflict.

The minister explained that the measure is aimed at ensuring the proper functioning of Australia’s immigration framework and maintaining compliance with existing visa conditions. 

While the ban is temporary, it affects Iranian nationals seeking to enter the country on visitor visas.

Authorities have clarified that the decision is procedural and is intended to safeguard the administration of the visa system, rather than targeting individuals based on nationality. 

The government has advised affected travellers to monitor official updates regarding the resumption of normal entry procedures.
