Minister announces compensation for families of plane crash victims
Ghulam Sarwar says those responsible for crash will be given exemplary punishment

Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Monday announced financial compensation for families of the people who were killed in the PIA plane crash in Karachi on Friday.
Talking to the media after attending funeral prayers for those martyred in the plane crash, Ghulam Sarwar said that family of each martyr will get a financial compensation of Rs5 million. He said that an investigation team consisting of officials of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has been formed to investigate the PIA plane crash and a report on the incident would be released soon.
The federal minister said he would make sure that inquiry into the PIA plane crash is completed on merit. He said that Airbus, the company which manufactured the ill-fated plane, is also coming to help Pakistan in the crash investigation. He said that those found responsible for the PIA plane crash would be given exemplary punishment. He said nobody would be allowed to politicise the issue.
The federal minister said that non-technical people should not create confusion about the PIA plane crash. He said that people whose houses were damaged in the PIA plane cash would also get financial compensation soon.

As many as 97 people were killed when an Airbus A320 passenger plane crashed into a residential area near the airport in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest and most densely populated city, seconds before landing at Jinnah International Airport on Friday afternoon.
Eyewitness told news channels they heard a massive sound and ran outside their homes to see what has happened. A number of houses collapsed completely and there was fire and thick smoke all around.
Two male passengers onboard the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore to Karachi survived the crash, government officials confirmed on Saturday.
