No additional tax to be imposed in budget: finance minister

Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tareen Monday said he would not introduce any additional tax in the next budget 2021-22.
According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, the central finance minister chaired a special meeting with the Pakistan-US Business Council, Overseas Investors Chambers of Commerce, and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Monday.
The representatives of the organizations presented their budget proposals to the central finance minister to increase public revenue and exports especially. Addressing the representatives of organizations, Shaukat Tareen assured them to impose no additional taxes in the budget to give relief to a common man in the country.
Shaukat Tareen said his government would take strict action against the tax evaders and tax revenue to be increased through using modern technology. He said they would take steps to get better national economic growth rates in upcoming financial years and important sectors would be identified through the Economic Advisory Council and they would give attention to the housing, agriculture, exports, and revenue sectors.
