Police again reach Parvez Elahi’s residence to arrest him

Anti-corruption officials accompanied by Punjab police have again shown up outside former Punjab chief minister Parvez Ealhi’s home to arrest him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

Earlier, an anti-corruption court in Lahore rejected Elahi's bail petition in a case of alleged corruption in development projects.

Mr Elahi's lawyer told the court that the former chief minister was suffering from chest pain and could not appear in court.

The prosecution argued that Parvez Elahi's medical was fake. During the hearing, the judge remarked, "Show me the reports and I will decide now."

DG Anti Corruption said that they had sought the assistance of Lahore police to arrest the former CM and vowed to arrest Elahi today.

He alleged that Elahi submitted a fake medical certificate in court and they would also initiate a process against Elahi for submitting a fake medical certificate as well.

The police also closed the Zahoor Elahi Road for traffic. However, according to officials, the ACE and police team eventually left the ex-chief minister’s residence empty-handed as he was not at home.
