Hafiz Kareem elected Ameer of Jamiat Ahle Hadees unopposed
Hafiz Abdul Kareem has been elected as Ameer of Jamiat Ahle Hadees unopposed on Sunday, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
Hafiz Abdul Kareem was elected new Ameer unanimously by members of party's Majlis-e-Shura after the death of Prof Sajid Mir.
Voting for the election of the new ameer was held at the Ahle Hadees Markaz in Lahore. More than 600 members of the Central Shura Council from all four provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan, attended the meeting. The election process was completed under the supervision of the chairman of the election board, Dr Abdul Ghafoor.
After the election, Hafiz Abdul Kareem took oath of his office. Hafiz Abdul Kareem was elected Nazim Ala for five consecutive time.
Addressing press conference, new Ameer thanked Majlis Shura and Jamiat members to reposing trust on his leadership. Hafiz Abdul Kareem pledged that he would continue to work for the party leaders and members.
He also thanked PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif for offering him Senate ticket.
On the occasion, he lauded security forces for foiling Indian aggression. He vowed that being head of the Jamiat, he will struggle for restoration of democracy and Sharia in the country. New Ameer stressed that he will protect the honor and respect of madrasas and scholars in the country.
