Jennifer Lopez shows off bruises from intense rehearsals
Jennifer Lopez gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her intense preparation for the upcoming American Music Awards, including the bruises and injuries she's sustained along the way.
In a striking black-and-white photo shared to Instagram on Friday, the 55-year-old performer showed a fresh bruise on her arm. The image, taken in a dance studio, shows Lopez surrounded by fellow dancers, all dressed in athletic rehearsal gear.
“It takes a village. DANCE AGAIN #AMAS @cbstv @ParamountPlus,” Lopez captioned the post, teasing fans about her high-energy performance. Dressed in a plunging black leotard, leggings, Nike knee pads, and white sneakers, the multi-talented star looked ready to dominate both the stage and the screen as she prepares to host and perform during the star-studded ceremony.
Earlier this month, she revealed a more serious incident during rehearsals, a facial injury that required stitches.
“So this happened,” she wrote in a previous Instagram story, where she was seen holding an ice pack over a visibly swollen and red nose and eye. The injury occurred during a high-impact dance routine, which Lopez described as “a very high-energy athletic number.”
In a follow-up interview with People on Friday, the Unstoppable actress shared more details: “I hurt my nose. I hit it in rehearsal and I had to get stitches. It was fine. A few of us have gotten hurt in rehearsals… it’s, I guess, bound to happen.”
She was treated by celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond, known for his appearances on the reality series Dr. 90210. A third social media post on Tuesday confirmed the incident occurred a week prior, and that she was already almost fully healed.
