Naqvi orders crackdown on illegal houses, unauthorised societies in Islamabad

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to launch a strict crackdown against illegal constructions and unapproved housing societies in Islamabad. 

According to 24NewsHD TV Channel, the decision was made during a high-level meeting held on Sunday in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the minister.

The meeting was attended by key field officers, including the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, IG Islamabad Police, Deputy Commissioner, DIGs, SPs, and ACs. 

A decisive operation was approved targeting all illegal structures, including unauthorised homes and housing societies.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi emphasised a zero-tolerance policy and urged officials to enforce it strictly. 

He instructed that satellite mapping under the Land Information and Management System (LIMS) should be utilised to prevent and eliminate illegal constructions across the capital.

He stated that delivering world-class public services in Islamabad should be the top priority for all officers. 

"There should be no compromise in protecting the lives and property of citizens," he said. Naqvi also directed SPs and ACs to perform their duties actively and responsibly.

Highlighting the need to restore public confidence, the minister stressed that improving the image of the police and administrative departments depends on public trust. 

He encouraged officials to introduce new citizen-centric initiatives, assuring them of full support for their implementation.

Naqvi also issued directives to ensure effective control of essential commodity prices and emphasised maintaining cleanliness throughout the city during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha holidays.
