Renowned wrestler Adnan Tairanwala Pehalwan, who recently clinched victory in the semi-final of the prestigious Rustam-e-Pakistan title, miraculously escaped unhurt after an armed attack in Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident occurred in the Mandiala Warraich area under the jurisdiction of the Cantonment Police Station.
A large crowd had gathered to congratulate Adnan Tairanwala on his victory when suddenly, gunfire erupted.
Two unidentified individuals, reportedly affiliated with a rival group, opened fire on him, sparking panic among the attendees.
Adnan Tairanwala, recounting the incident, stated that he survived the attack without injury. He accused individuals named Ashfaq and Zahid, along with two unidentified men, of orchestrating the assault.
Adnan Tairanwala further revealed that tensions between the two groups had escalated after a previous altercation, which he believes motivated the attack.
Despite the intensity of the firing, no injuries were reported. Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects.
