Islamabad’s Ataturk Avenue widening project inaugurated
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Monday inaugurated the Ataturk Avenue Widening Project in the federal capital on behalf of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Talal Chaudhry said the Ministry of Interior was working in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to develop a modern, safe and green Islamabad.
He said the widening of Ataturk Avenue from 24 feet to 52 feet would help improve the flow of traffic and reduce congestion in the area.
Talal Chaudhry said the project had been completed in accordance with the federal government’s infrastructure development vision while ensuring the preservation of all trees along the avenue.
He added that the project includes modern lighting, an improved drainage system, walkways and enhanced security arrangements.
The minister of state emphasized that environmental protection remained a top priority in all development projects undertaken by the government.
