Lahore police solve mystery of burnt body found in sack

Lahore police on Monday claimed to have solved the mystery surrounding a burnt body found packed in a sack, alleging that a property dealer was murdered by a woman and her accomplices over a blackmail and financial dispute.

According to police officials, the victim, identified as Ashraf, worked as a property dealer and had arranged a rented house for a woman named Naseem.

Investigators said the woman allegedly owed money to the victim.

Investigators further claimed that Ashraf had recorded objectionable videos of the woman and her daughter and had been blackmailing them.

Police said the suspect, along with two accomplices, allegedly killed Ashraf before placing his body in a sack and setting it on fire near Chandrai Road in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.

"The suspects were identified through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and were later arrested."

Police said further investigations into the case were underway.
