The Punjab police have notified transfers and postings of more than two dozen officers.

According to a notification on Tuesday, the top cop ordered transfers and postings of 25 high-ranking officers of the force.

Earlier, Punjab IGP Inam Ghani ordered his team to wear the uniform while discharging duty. He said putting on the uniform is discipline and it is the responsibility of all command officers to abide by it. All unit chiefs, RPOs, CPOs and DPOs should ensure implementation of uniform SOP by their subordinate staff at any cost, he directed.

Reportedly, the DIG (HQ) sent a letter to Additional IGs to get the directives enforced however officers and personnel posted in the CTD, Special Branch, Investigation Punjab and Safe City Authority are exempted from wearing uniforms while executive staff working in all other units, offices and departments must wear uniforms.
