Inquiry panel to probe ‘illegal spending’ of PML-N govt’s media cell

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has constituted an inquiry committee to probe the ‘revelations’ made by PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The inquiry committee will probe the irregularities in the distribution of advertisements to media houses and showering ‘benefits’ on favourite journalists through the last government’s media cell and will prepare a report.
Through the media cell supervised by Maryam Nawaz, the federal government’s over Rs9.63 billion had been spent. There was also evidence to control Punjab’s advertisements through this media cell.
The inquiry committee will probe the illegal use of the government’s funds through the media cell and will prepare a report.
