Defaulters thrash Wapda recovery officer in Hafizabad

Electricity defaulters have severely beaten an official of Wapda’s recovery team, injuring him seriously for severing a power connection for non-payment of a bill in Hafizabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, the WAPDA recovery team in Sukheke disconnected the connection of a consumer for non-payment of bill on which the accused got angry and tortured the GEPCO official along with his colleagues.

The accused took the GEPCO official hostage by taking away the meter. However the official was released due to the intervention of local residents.

SDO GEPCO alleged that the accused also snatched money from the officials.

Later, the injured GEPCO official was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, cops of concerned police station are searching for the accused involved in the incident.
